St. Anthony Community Hospital and Schervier Pavilion receive highest ratings from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Warwick. St. Anthony Community Hospital among only 10.4 percent of hospitals that received five-star rating in July 2023
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) bestowed its highest ratings – five stars – on St. Anthony Community Hospital and Schervier Pavilion, as part of the organization’s ratings release for 2023.
Both facilities operate under the banner of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) and are located on the same WMCHealth campus in Warwick.
.CMS recognized St. Anthony Community Hospital, a 60-bed community hospital that has served residents of Orange County and Passaic and Sussex counties, N.J., for more than 80 years, in the Overall Hospital Quality Ratings category in a number of areas, including timeliness and effectiveness of care, prevention of complications and infections, quality of maternal care, staffing, and more.
Schervier Pavilion, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, also received a five-star CMS nursing home rating for excellence in specialized care.
The overall star rating for nursing homes comes from a combination of health inspections, staffing and quality of resident care measures. CMS calculates a star rating for each of these three categories, along with an overall facility rating, with a five-star rating indicating a facility’s exemplary care and physical environment.
“Delivering excellence in care and satisfaction is our biggest goal at St. Anthony Community Hospital and Schervier Pavilion, and we are proud to be recognized by CMS,” said Mary P. Leahy, MD, MHA, CEO of Bon Secours Charity Health System. “Thank you to our dedicated and hard-working staff and our local community for trusting us with their care.”
