Sobo & Sobo announces finalists for annual scholarship contest
Warwick. Scarlett Forestire was the finalist from Warwick Valley High School.
Sobo & Sobo LLP, a law firm with a focus on securing justice for victims of negligence, recently announced the top three finalists of its annual scholarship contest for 2024. This year’s competition included thousands of high school students from across New York, New Jersey, and Illinois vying for scholarship funding and the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents.
From all entries, three artists were chosen for the finals: Scarlett Forestire from Warwick Valley High School, Rahmat Gambari from Sullivan West High School, and Ella Shay from Tappan Zee High School.
According to the law firm, these students captivated the judges with their innovative interpretations of the theme “justice,” conveyed through mediums such as sculptures, drawings, paintings, and digital art. “Their entries exemplified creativity, originality, artistic skill, and a profound connection to the theme,” the law firm added.
The scholarship award ceremony will be held Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m., at the Sobo & Sobo LLP office at 744 Broadway, Newburgh. At the ceremony, the first, second, and third place winners will be announced and celebrated, with scholarship funds presented to the recipients.
“We were blown away by the caliber of submissions we received this year,” remarked Lauren Biegel, director of the Sobo & Sobo Scholarship Committee. “Each finalist demonstrated exceptional talent and a deep understanding of justice through their artwork. We commend Rahmat, Scarlett and Ella for their remarkable contributions and congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition.”
