Plans for the new state-of-the-art skate park for Warwick to be unveiled Oct. 29
Warwick. Organizers say the skate park will be built with Olympic-qualifying elements.
Warwick Skatepark Initiative (WSI) invites you to join us as the plans for a new Warwick Skate Park are unveiled on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., at Park Avenue Elementary School cafeteria.
This grassroots project is being brought to the community with the support of The Village of Warwick, non-profit organizations VSMO and Project Knomad. The proponents understand that though the current skate park is well loved, and has been well used for 20 years, it’s time for something fresh and new. Not just an upgrade, but a state-of-the-art concrete park - for all ages, with new challenges, for skateboarding, BMX, roller blades and scooters.
According to organizers, leading design firm Pillar Design Studios will build a park with Olympic-qualifying elements that can make this Warwick skate park a potential Olympic training ground as skateboarding becomes an Olympic sport in 2020.
The new park will remain in Veterans Memorial Park in a new location with more amenities.
Come to the presentation and fund-raising kick-off – Warwick Skatepark T-shirts and stickers will be for sale.
