People for People Fund – a not-for-profit dedicated to providing temporary financial assistance to residents of Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties who experience unexpected financial setbacks – has announced that nominations for its “Positive People Award” are open through Aug. 7.

For the first time, People for People Fund is asking community members to nominate outstanding individuals and companies that positively contribute to the community and, ultimately, help others.

Nominees must live, work or volunteer in the counties of Orange, Ulster, or Sullivan. Self-nominations are accepted. For more information about the awards, or to submit a nomination, visit rb.gy/9jbiew.

“People for People Fund would not exist without the support of our community,” said Nolly Climes, president, People for People Fund. “These awards will let us thank those who share our vision of ‘neighbors helping neighbors.’ Whether nominees are familiar with our work or not, we hope that the public will help us recognize those who share our passion for giving back.”

Honorees will be notified by Thursday, Aug. 29, and awards will be presented on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the second annual Recognition Breakfast at Wallkill Golf. Members of the public are welcome to attend the free event, though registration is required.
