Past District Governors assist with Rotary Donations

Two Former Rotary District Governors joined Warwick Valley Rotary President Leo Kaytes Jr., left, in distributing almost $10,000 in donation checks to 10 non-profit organizations. Bill Bassett, center, of Pine Bush, and Knut Johnsen of Newburgh, are past governors of the 60-plus-club, eight-county Rotary District 7210. Donations were handed out to Beautiful People Adaptive Sports, Backpack Snack Attack, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Literacy Orange, Pure Water for the World, Polio Plus, (Orange County-based) International Medical Relief Foundation, American Cancer Society Mid-Hudson Chapter, Warwick Ecumenical Ministry’s Meals on Wheels and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Warwick Rotarians are local leaders committed to improving the quality of life in Warwick and elsewhere. This year Warwick Rotarians raised and donated about $50,000 as well as contributing time and skills to help others. They meet each Wednesday noon at the Landmark Inn. Potential members are invited to the meetings.
