On Dec. 11 at the Greenwood Lake Arthur Finnegan American Legion Post 1443, Christmas presents were boxed for shipment to two Greenwood Lake military men who are stationed overseas. One is in Afghanistan and the other one is in Kuwait. The project was entitled "Operation Holiday Cheer." The items were donated at collection boxes at various stores around Greenwood Lake. People donated food, toiletry and games. The presents were packaged by Geraldine Buckley, Village Clerk Patricia Olsen and Ella McCormack, 9, Helena Cronin, 12, Kira Saririe, 13, and SaoirseTrazino, 11. The coordinators of the project were GWL Village Trustee Kathleen Holder and Legion member Walter Kittle, who both also packaged presents. The presents were sent out the next day so the men will get them in time for Christmas.
