Newburgh. Sen. Chuck Schumer endorses Anthony Grice for Orange County Clerk

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his support this week for City of Newburgh Councilman At-Large Anthony Grice, the Democratic and Working Families Party nominee for Orange County Clerk.

“I’ve worked with Councilman Grice for years on issues impacting the City of Newburgh and its residents, especially in our fight to clean up the toxic PFAS mess in the City’s drinking water,” Schumer said in the press release detailing his support. “I know first-hand that Anthony is a proven leader with a deep commitment to public service and improving the lives of Orange County families.

“As a lifelong Orange County resident, Anthony knows the struggles facing our communities,” Schumer added, “and his three years as the At-Large Newburgh City Councilman, dedication to our kids as a 18-year public school teacher, and bold, forward-thinking platform are proof that he will be a clerk that will transform and improve public services for the residents of Orange County.”

In response, Grice said: “I am honored to have received Senator Schumer’s support for our campaign. Senator Schumer has been a fierce advocate for all residents of Orange County since his election to the United States Senate over 20 years ago. I am happy to stand alongside him in our campaign to provide more efficient, accessible and accountable clerk and Department of Motor Vehicles services to the residents of Orange County.”
