MIDDLETOWN — Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering an eight-week program beginning April 2 for parents and caregivers of children ages 3-11 years called “Healthy Children, Healthy Families.”

“It can be challenging to encourage healthy eating and activity habits in our children – but we’re confident this program could make all the difference in your family,” Annemarie Stephens, nutrition program educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County, said in the press release announcing the program.

“What makes this program so different is that it provides fun-filled activities involving the whole family,” said Stephens, “and when everyone’s involved, there’s a better chance of positive changes becoming permanent.”

“The weekly classes offer a supportive environment for sharing, fun, hands-on activities, great tasting recipes and information to make healthy habits happen,” Stephens added. “Each week you will discover a new path to success and best of all, this program is free.”
