Orange and Rockland Utilities (O&R) electric service was interrupted to nearly 3,000 customers in Warwick last Monday night when overhead power lines fell on Forester Avenue.
According to O&R spokesperson Mike Donovan, the outage appeared to have been the result of damage the overhead line equipment sustained during last week’s severe winter storm that pummeled Warwick and surrounding communities.
Warwick police reported the situation about 7:15 p.m. And O&R crews were immediately dispatched to the scene near Park Avenue.
They isolated the break in the wires by 7:52 p.m. and restored electric service to 2,032 of the total 2,931 customers affected.
The remaining 899 customers were restored to service at 9:32 p.m. after the downed wires were repaired.
