Music for Humanity announces scholarship winners

— The board of Music for Humanity in Chester has announced its scholarship winners, as it encourages all applicants to "continue on their musical journey; to be ambassadors for 'music' and as musicians continue to build the invisible roads, bridges and tunnels that connect our hearts. More connections means a better world for all of us. More music means a better world for all of us."
The 2018 scholarship recipients are:
Ryan Soeyadi, Grand Prize, $8,000 — Ryan is from Lake Grove, N.Y., and will be a sophomore at The Juilliard School in New York, N.Y.
Bobby Volkman, Second Prize , $4,000 — Bobby is from Ronkonkoma NY; he will be a senior at The Juilliard School in New York, NY - See him perform here.
Emma Nicholson, 1st Honorable Mention, $1,000 — Emma is from Florida, N.Y., in her second year of graduate studies at the Peabody Conservatory at John Hopkins in Baltimore.
Jethro Banks, 2nd Honorable Mention, $1,000 — Jethro is from Beacon, N.Y., and will be a freshman at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Chloe Borthwick, 3rd Honorable Mention, $1,000 — Chloe is from Warwick, N.Y. She will be a freshman at William Patterson University in Wayne, N.J.
Music for Humanity is a nonprofit that exists to help spread more music throughout the world.
On Sunday, Sept. 30, Music for Humanity will host a concert featuring Jason Miles and Rave Tesar, two internationally successful musicians. They will each perform and then conduct a master class featuring five outstanding young musicians including Ryan Soeyadi, Bobby Volkman, Chloe Borthwick, Alex Prizgintas.

Include your name, phone number, and the number of seats you need (maximum is 6). Tickets are also available at Peck's Wine and Spirits, 1 Bank St., Warwick; and Outdoors, 6 Howland St., Chester.
