Main Street Barbers and Classy Cuts and Curls opens

WARWICK — On March 26, Town of Warwick Deputy Supervisor James Gerstner and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined John Figliacconi, members of his staff and family to celebrate the grand opening of Main Street Barbers and Classy Cuts and Curls of Warwick.

Main Street Barbers first opened last June. The business grew quickly, but according to Figliacconi, an increase in demand for women’s hair services led him to move across the hall and open a shop that would continue to include a full-service barber shop along with a salon featuring expanded services for the entire family from babies to adults.

Expanded services
Figliacconi is a master barber and a lifelong native of Warwick whose family dates back to the American Revolution. After graduating from the American Barber Institute in New York City, he worked in Manhattan and then in the Village of Florida before opening his own barbershop.

In addition to haircutting, Figliacconi and another barber, Joe Crescenzo, a 30-year veteran of barbershops including well-known Manhattan establishments, will offer hot towel straight razor shaves with hot lather. They also offer house calls for the sick and home-bound.

In the new expanded facility, Main Street Barbers and Classy Cuts and Curls will provide women’s hairstyling, highlighting and coloring by stylist Krista Plunkett, a “top of the class” graduate of C-Tech for Cosmetology.

After serving her apprenticeship at Paul La Brecque Salon and Spa in Manhattan, Plunkett worked at Harmony Salon in Goshen.

The shop also offers makeup design by Jamie Rhodes and Zofia Wogen.

Essential information
Main Street Barbers and Classy Cuts and Curls offers discounts to seniors, veterans, police, firefighters and EMS workers. The Salon can also host bridal parties, sweet sixteen get-togethers and makeup or face painting parties for children.

Hours of operation are Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome or to schedule an appointment call 544-7300.
