Library to hold Holocaust Remembrance Day

On Sunday, April 28 the Florida Public Library will commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day which is observed on May 6 this year. The event will begin at 1 p.m. with a brief introduction to the 1993 movie based on the novel “Schindler’s Ark” by Australian novelist Thomas Keneally by local Florida resident and member of the Friends of Florida Public Library, Linda Dubin.
The movie follows Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist who saved more than a thousand mostly Polish Jewish refugees from the Holocaust by employing them in his factories during World War II. Following the movie, Dubinwill lead a discuss on why this movie was chosen and the importance on observing Holocaust Remembrance Day.
