Latino Democratic Committee honors attorney Jennifer S. Echevarria

NEWBURGH — Jennifer S. Echevarria, an associate attorney at Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP concentrating in employment and immigration, was selected for the Leadership Award by the Latino Democratic Committee of Orange County on Oct. 13, 2018 at the committee's annual fall dinner dance.
The Latino Democratic Committee of Orange County’s mission is to promote Latino participation in government and civic affairs.
The committee works to enhance the lives of Latinos in Orange County through empowerment, pride of ethnic origin, increase Latino voter registration, political awareness and involvement in government, education and community issues, building coalitions and development of political strength.
Echevarria received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2005 from Vassar College. She received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in 2008 from Pace University School of Law, where she was on the dean’s list, a student editor of The Journal of Court Innovation and president of the Latin American Law Students Association.
She is a resident of Warwick.
Echevarria is admitted to practice in the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as the Southern District of the State of New York.
She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York where she serves as co-chair of the legislative committee, women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Orange County Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
In 2015, Jennifer was recognized as an Orange County Rising Star and received the Public Service Attorney Award from the Women’s Bar Association of Orange County. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, Upstate New York, for the past three years.
“I thank the committee for recognizing my legal work in the fields of immigration, employment, and sexual harassment," Echevarria said. "This recognition motivates me to continue providing exceptional legal services to some of the most needy members of our community."
