Katie RudyTomczak named Pine Island Citizen of the Year
Pine Island. Pine Island Chamber also will salute Susan McCosker for her distinguished service and Vidar Hageman for his youth achievement award.
The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Social and Installation of Officers on Sunday, Oct. 27, beginning at noon at the Jolly Onion, 625 Glenwood Road in Pine Island.
The event will include a luncheon buffet prepared by Chef Armand Vanderstgchel and will feature music by Joe Frazita.
This program will include award presentations to Katie RudyTomczak, to be named 2019 Pine Island Citizen of the Year, Susan McCosker to be honored for her Distinguished Service and Vidar Hageman to be honored with a Youth Achievement Award.
Katie RudyTomczak
Katie RudyTomczak is an oncology nurse practitioner by profession, but her calling is the RJR Memorial Fund which has as its primary mission assisting local children and families in need due to illness, loss or other hardship such as losing homes to fire.
The RJR Memorial Fund has been an independent nonprofit organization since 2015, and has donated more than $50,000 over that time.
The fund also donates annually to the Orange Ulster BOCES CTE scholarship program.
Susan McCosker
Susan McCosker provided the spark and the energy that produced the new playground at the Pine Island Park. She was the chief liaison between and among the Kosuga Foundation, Pine Island Recreation, Pine Island Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Warwick.
Pine Island children and their parents are grateful for her enormous contribution.
Vidar Hageman
Vidar Hageman has been the president of his senior class at Warwick Valley High School, chaired the homecoming event and plays Warwick football, all the while maintaining good grades.
He has been an asset to the school, town and Pine Island.The Chamber is a nonprofit, selfsupporting, all volunteer, community organization.

This event is open to all, but reservations are required. Seating is limited. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
