Jump, run, kick, cheer How these kids spent their summer

WARWICK — Hundreds of youngsters participated in the Village of Warwick Recreation program from June 26 through July 26.
Sixty-five young athletes participated in soccer, while another 40 learned and played lacrosse. All were between the ages of 5 and 12.
There also were tennis, cheerleading, swimming, basketball and park programs
Meanwhile, 120 young runners participated in a track program run three days a weeks at the Tim St. Lawrence Track at Warwick Valley High School.
The kids, ages 5 to 12, worked on proper warm ups, sprinting, stretching, endurance and field events.
The program culminated with an Olympics week where each age group was a particular country (5-7 year olds were France; 8-9 Italy; 10-11 Jamaica; 12-plus Switzerland), and on the final day ribbons and medals were awarded.
