Hudson Valley Dance Center of Warwick opens at new location

WARWICK — Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors joined owner Marguerite McNeilly and her manager and students for the grand opening of the Hudson Valley Dance Center of Warwick at its new location on June 27.

The new dance studio, formerly located at 11 First St., is now in a larger studio at 53 Wheeler Ave. in the Village of Warwick.

“Hudson Valley Dance provides a professional dance experience for children beginning at age two and adults,” said McNeilly. “Ballet, jazz, tap, barre extreme workout and Magical Theater are all part of our first year.”

McNeilly, who lives in Warwick with her two sons, ages 12 and 13, has been a dance educator in the Hudson Valley, both in the private and public sector for 25 years. She trained under such notables as Peter Martins, Mellissa Hayden, Madam Darvash, Tom Adaire, Jacques D’Ambois, Madam Seda and Peter Anastos.

McNeilly has studied and performed the techniques of the New York City Ballet at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Jacobs Pillow, Garden State Ballet and Eglefvsky Ballet. She Joined the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Company at age 16.

After earning a bachelor of fine arts degree at Emerson College, McNeilly performed leading roles nationally and abroad in performances of “Grease,” “A Chorus Line,” “Cats,” “West Side Story,” “Hair,” “Cabaret” and “Grand Hotel.”
