GREENWOOD LAKE — In his bid to unseat Mayor Barbara Moore, Greenwood Lake Trustee Jesse Dwyer has received the backing of the three other members of the Village Board.

“I believe that Jesse is the leader this village needs,” Trustee Kelli Kelm said in Dwyer’s press release about the endorsements. “We are proud to sit with Jesse on the Village Board and we believe in his ideas, his ability, and his love for this community.”

The endorsements by Kelm, Trustee Chris Casse and Trustee and Deputy Mayor Wayne Russo were first announced in September.

“I have worked with Jesse on numerous issues,” Russo said in the press release, “and have found his knowledge of local issues, demeanor in solving problems and most importantly, his honest, respectful and willing approach to work with others make him the best choice for mayor in this election.”

Dwyer lives on the East Arm of Greenwood Lake in the same house in which he was raised, runs a business in the village and is a member of the Elks and Lions. He has been on the village board for more than two years; prior to that, he served on the Village Planning Board and Comprehensive Plan Committee.

He is running for mayor with Kelm and Tom Howley, both of whom are running for trustee.

The election is March 19.
