GREENWOOD LAKE — On Earth Day (Saturday, April 22), scouts from Cub Scout Pack 121 in Greenwood Lake participated in a NOVA/STEM event at the Greenwood Lake Middle School.
Scouts, from the ranks of Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves and Webelos, completed the "Out of this World" module of the Boy Scouts of America NOVA Program.
The cub scouts learned about aspects of space exploration, Mars colonization, eclipses and watched an IMAX film about the International Space Station.
NOVA/STEM is part of the Boy Scouts of America's initiative to encourage the natural curiosity of youth members and their sense of wonder about the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through existing programs.
This story was provided by Jason Fox, the co-chair of the Pack 121 NOVA Committee.
