| 26 May 2020 | 03:26
Memorial Day services were held Monday at Greenwood Lake American Legion Post 1443. Chaplain Robert Sweeney opened the services with a prayer. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Post Commander Tom Mulcahy limited attendance to legion members, the Ladies' Auxiliary and the Sons of the Legion, with those there practicing social distancing. Gold Star Mother Vivian Allen and husband Robert, whose son Lou was killed in Iraq, stand with Jimmy Lynch and his son Scotty. Lynch is the brother of Marine Scott Lynch who was killed in Afghanistan. The statue on the left stands in Scott Lynch's honor. Both families placed wreaths during the program.
