On Saturday, May 1, the Greenwood Lake American Legion Arthur Finnegan Post 1443 held its annual Kentucky Derby Day.
Attendees enjoyed a large buffet while watching two large TV screens featuring the Kentucky Derby races. The delicious food was provided by the Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary.
Ladies wore their homemade hats and a couple of the men did as well for the hat contest.
There was a tie between Joe Mazur and Beth Buckley and they split the $150 first prize. Joe donated his share to the Veteran’s Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
This year was the largest turnout for the derby party in the Legion’s history.
