Grappa Ristorante reopens

WARWICK — After almost two months of renovation and repair, one of Warwick's most popular restaurants, Grappa Ristorante at 22 Railroad Ave., is now open.
In the early morning of April 12, a fire, believed to be caused by faulty electrical wiring inside the walls of the former location of La Piazza at 24 Railroad Ave., resulted in the closure of Grappa Ristorante and its lower level café, La Piazza Wine Bar & Martini Lounge.
Besides the damage to the vacant former La Piazza facility, Grappa Ristorante along with nearby businesses in the Railroad Ave. Courtyard including the FriYo Yogurt Café and the Olive Oil Company suffered water and smoke damage and had to be closed for structural repairs, painting and clean-up.
Building owner Tony Sylaj, who also owns the restaurant and the lounge with his business partner Nick Ahmetaj, issued a statement at that time that Grappa Ristorante would be closed until further notice.
He and Ahmetaj have been working every day since that time to reopen the restaurant.
"Everything is finally back to normal," said Sylaj. "It's exactly the same as before and we will be open seven days each week for lunch and dinner throughout the summer."
The other good news is that the nearby Olive Oil Company will reopen this Saturday, June 10.
