This Friday, July 9, all seven of the LEGO-themed “lands” will be open at the 150-acre Legoland New York theme park in Goshen.
Previously (from May 29) Legoland has been in preview mode, with only six of seven lands open.
The 500-acre property also has the 250-room Legoland New York Hotel, which is open for bookings beginning Aug. 6.
The park was scheduled to open July 4, 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic first delayed construction, then the timetable to safely open based on COVID-19 safety requirements.
The six lands that initially opened for previews are Brick Street, Bricktopia, Miniland, LEGO City, LEGO Castle and LEGO Ninjago World.
According to the online publication, Travel Pulse (www.travelpulse.com/news), there will be one new interactive ride that’s exclusive to the New York park, called Professor Brick’s Lego Factory Adventure Ride.
According to Travel Plus, “guests will ride a trackless vehicle through the manufacturing process at an imaginary LEGO factory after being ‘shrunken’ down to the size of LEGO Minifigure themselves. The first-of-its-kind dark ride will use advanced computer vision and tracking technologies to identify guests’ physical attributes, map their positions and then digitally ‘transform’ them into LEGO Minifigures that move in tandem with each rider.”
One-day admission tickets begin at $69.99 person.
