Goshen. Inaugural Federation Fun Day held Sunday at Myron Urbanski Memorial Park
The local Jewish community gathered for an afternoon of music, food, games and more for the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County’s inaugural Federation Fun Day last Sunday at Myron Urbanski Memorial Park in Goshen.
Hudson Valley Event Group kept the atmosphere lively with a selection of pop music hits from various decades as well as Jewish favorites. Many of the children in attendance (as well as the young at heart) took advantage of the group’s photobooth station, taking pictures using the silly props provided.
Participating vendors offered guests the opportunity to browse and shop for such items as jewelry, popcorn and art, while the various synagogues and other Jewish organizations provided insight and information into Jewish life in Orange County.
In addition, guests were able to enjoy Kosher food provided by Eataly Dairy of Monroe.
The event also included a silent auction where guests were able to bid on such items as water park tickets and an overnight stay at the Kartrite resort, sports memorabilia, and gift baskets, as well as a 50/50 raffle.
“We were pleased to bring together Jews from all around Orange County to spend some time together and learn more about each other. We danced, we ate, we shopped, and we felt a sense of community in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, “said Wendy Cedar, the executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County. “The Jewish Federation works to provide opportunities for the local Jewish community to come together in safe, community atmospheres where we can celebrate our culture together.”
