GCD Auto Studio relocates to Industrial Drive in the Village of Florida
Florida. The company is a full service restoration shop that do everything from metal fabrication, mechanical/suspension work, body and paint and complete interiors.
Members of the Florida Chamber of Commerce joined with Gi Monge, Linda Nilon and their crew at GCD Auto Studio at 9 Industrial Drive in the Village of Florida, on Aug. 3 to celebrate their move to Florida with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The event was attended by Chamber President Jan Jansen, Vice President Robert Scott (and his spouse Nancy), Acting Secretary Mary Coleman and Treasurer Janet Picarelli,.
Linda Nilon offered this brief history of where GCD started:
“My partner, Gi Monge, and myself opened up a small upholstery shop across from our home in Minisink back in 2006 and, after a year, we grew and moved into the City of Middletown off of Wisner Avenue to a larger facility.
“From there our business kept growing and in 2014 we moved to a larger facility in the Town of Wallkill. That building was 8,800 square feet and we moved into half of the building and the other half was subleased to a powder coating company.
“As the years progressed we always had people ask us why we didn’t do restoration work along with the auto interior and upholstery work so we decided to take over the whole building once the lease was up for the other tenant and GCD Auto Studio was born in October of 2019.
“We are one of the few full service restoration/restomod shops that do everything from metal fabrication, mechanical/suspension work, body and paint and complete interiors. Many of our clients are happy that we are a one-stop shop and their car stays with us through the entire process instead of being transported from shop to shop to be completed.
“We moved into our new location here in Florida on June 1 and we gained an additional 2,000 square feet of work space and we have already filled it ... there is never enough room.
“Our shop works strictly on classic cars and we not only do complete restorations but we also perform regular vehicle maintenance, small jobs such as disc brake conversions and suspension upgrades. In a nutshell we can take care of all your classic car needs from large scale to small scale.
“We have many project photos and videos on our social media pages on Instagram and Facebook for GCD Auto Studio and Gillin Auto Interiors which is our auto interior section.”
