New York Blood Center (NYBC) will be hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, September 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the JCPenney Court on the first floor of Galleria at Crystal Run. The blood drive will celebrate collecting 5,000 blood donations since they began hosting blood drives with NYBC in 2001.This milestone highlights the impact of the shopping center’s ongoing efforts to support the region’s blood supply and give back to the local community.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with New York Blood Center and the 5,000 donations collected at Galleria at Crystal Run,” said Karla MacGregor, marketing director at Galleria at Crystal Run. “We look forward to many more milestones with the New York Blood Center and continuing to make a difference in our community.”

“We are so grateful for Galleria at Crystal Run’s support in maintaining the region’s blood supply for more than 20 years,” said Andrea Cefarelli, senior vice president at New York Blood Center. “The period around holiday weekends like Labor Day is always difficult for the blood supply, as families enjoy the last days of summer and blood donation becomes less of a priority. We encourage all eligible blood donors to make an appointment at this blood drive to help us combat the blood shortage and celebrate this milestone of 5,000 blood donations.”

Blood donors can give every 56 days, and platelet donors can give twice per month. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently lifted several blood donor eligibility restrictions. To view current eligibility guidelines, visit nybc.org or call 800-688-0900.

To make an appointment for this drive, donors can call 1-800-933-2566 or visit nybc.org. Can’t donate blood? You can still support NYBC’s mission by texting ‘NYBC’ to ‘20222’ to give $25.
