Four-week can-can sale underway at ShopRite in Warwick

WARWICK — The young women posing with Assistant Manager Charlie Gafkowski are not performers from le Moulin Rouge, the Paris birthplace of the can-can dance.

They are employees at Warwick ShopRite and they are promoting the store's annual "can-can sale."

The four-week sale, which began Jan 4, is "an uncanny sale," this year because it was originally named to indicate that only canned goods were on sale.

But recently the sale has included many other store products and not just those in cans. Hence, the addition of the "uncanny" adjective.
