Florida. S.S. Seward seniors honored with OU BOCES awards in arts, humanities
S.S. Seward seniors Alicia Morse and Christopher Beattie were among the thirty-plus high school graduates honored with 2019-20 Orange-Ulster BOCES Senior-Scholar Humanities Awards.
Alicia Morse
Alicia Morse distinguished herself in the visual arts as a member of Seward’s Video and Photography Club, and the Art Club where she currently serves as vice-president. Her artistic and creative talents also made their mark in multiple drama productions shared with the Florida community. An active member of the Goshen Volunteer Fire Department, she enjoys creative writing in her free time. Starting this fall, Alicia Morse plans to pursue a degree in English and communications.
Christopher Beattie
Christopher Beattie has been a distinguished member of Seward’s choir throughout his high school career, contributing both his talent and dedication to countless school and public performances. A four-year high-honor recipient, Christopher has also been recognized as a scholar athlete. Looking ahead at college and career, Christopher will explore his options in sports management and/or administration.
Like their peers from school districts across the region, Christopher and Alicia had looked forward to the annual Senior Scholar Humanities Breakfast coordinated by OU BOCES Division of Instructional Support, and originally scheduled for April 30.
The event’s cancellation notwithstanding, the local community joins the students’ families, teachers, principals, superintendents, and BOCES administration in celebrating the Class of 2020 senior scholars in the arts and humanities.
