Eclectic Eye opens under new management
WARWICK — Last May George Laurence sold his business, The Garage at the Eclectic Eye, 16-18 Railroad Ave., and while he went fishing in Florida, the new owners, Walter Welsh and his wife, Joanne Magro, who owned Second Hand Desire at the same location, performed renovations.
On Friday, Aug. 7, Town of Warwick Deputy Supervisor James Gerstner, Deputy Mayor Barry Cheney and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined the new owners, their friends and associates for the grand opening of the all-new Eclectic Eye.
'Old world ... a flare of modernism'
"For over 13 years The Eclectic Eye has been a destination for the discriminating customer," said Joanne Magro. "The Eclectic Eye is now under new ownership and will continue to provide customers with an Old World touch and an extension of a flare of modernism. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a one time shopping experience."
The Eclectic Eye spans more than 3,000 square feet of specialty items under one roof offered by 32 dealers.
"We are fortunate to exhibit to the community not only local artisans but individual vendors who are committed to share their passions for hidden treasures from all over the world," said Magro. "While perusing our new establishment we can guarantee that you will find yourself in a land of inimitable discoveries.
"The Eclectic Eye is the perfect place to visit for collectors, browsers, or those that would like to treat themselves to a tour of eye candy," she added. "As you circuit our new establishment and are unable to find your perfection we will be sure to assist you in your search."
