Anyone looking to get out of his or her home office will appreciate the Warwick Valley's first shared professional office space.
On July 18, Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard and Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce President John Redman, along with other Chamber members, joined owners and managing directors Alison Barone and Tom Mattingly, their friends and associates to celebrate the grand opening of Dream Worx at 7 West Street (side entrance on the second floor).
DreamWorx offers dedicated desks, hot seats, business-class WIFI, printing, scanning, copying, a conference room and general supplies. Members can also enjoy the benefits of networking, information sharing, business referrals and the elevated daily energy that naturally flows in a shared workspace, said Barone, an event planner and former cast member of TLC's home improvement television series While You Were Out.
Memberships start at $125 per month. Drop-ins are welcome.
A virtual office including an address, conference room rental and event-space rental are available to members and nonmembers.
"Businesses and individuals can work independently or collaboratively in our shared work space, and provide opportunities and growth," said Mattingly, a former executive manager and now an author and publisher. "We believe freelancers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and remote workers want a clean, professional environment where they can work with like-minded professionals. We think Warwick's historic district is the perfect place to blend the new economy with an old-fashioned work ethic."
Project manager Tara Ruggiero Cook has already used the space.
"It was perfect," she said. "No commute, yet I had a reason to get out of my pajamas. I was as focused and productive as ever. And I got to have some pleasant nonwork conversations with beings other than the dogs or cat."
