— Proprietor and operating partner Robert ("Bob") Pereira has 40 years of experience as a respected New York City restaurateur, venue designer and owner of Metronome Hospitality Group.
He and his partners recently opened a new restaurant, Cove Castle, in the heart of Greenwood Lake.
Located at 13 Castle Court, the historic building and property has been renovated as a 90-seat restaurant marina, with indoor and outdoor dining and bars with spectacular views of Greenwood Lake.
On Friday, July 22, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Village of Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Pereira, his family, business partners and friends for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new restaurant.

The sights and sounds of Greenwood Lake

Entering the Cove Castle property, you pass through two dramatic 12-foot high wood and wrought iron gates. Upon entering the property, your first view is that of picturesque Greenwood Lake and the mountain ridge backdrop.
The outdoor dining on the deck with its charming bright colored umbrellas and waterfront view is a perfect setting for dining.
For those looking for a more private and intimate waterfront dining experience, Cove Castle offers their Chef Table.
This is a private cabana that can host a sit-down dinner for up to 16 guests. It includes private docking for up to three boats and customized Chef tasting menus and wine pairing.
Cove Castle at Cove Point Marina also boasts a 53-slip marina for seasonal rentals as well as guests arriving by boat for dining.

Menu

The casual upscale menu features New American cuisine dishes like crab cakes served over hearts of palm.
In addition to the a la carte menu, daily specials are offered each day, such as chicken and cheddar/bacon waffles with Chipotle honey and maple butter, lobster rolls and slow roasted short ribs with creamy Polenta, wild mushrooms and crispy kale.
Cove Castle features a special priced Lobster Night every Thursday along with other seafood specials like Lobster Fra Diavolo and scallops with filet medallions.
Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
Executive Chef Koury Brewer uses local purveyors to create a farm to table dining experience.
Cove Castle also features Ladies Night every Wednesday and beginning Aug. 5, Live Music Fridays.

An ice house

The historic site where Cove Castle is located originally housed a 1920's Ice House followed by Morins Boathouse, circa 1930's, where Babe Ruth had his boat built, to the landmark Castle Tavern from 1937 to 2010.
The site has now been brought back to life after a dormant six years.
Still in the works and soon to be completed, is an elegant private event space, located one level above the restaurant, with an outdoor deck, a private beach and three terrace lawns that will be available and opening late summer 2016.
On-site lodging for private event guests will be available in the spring of 2017.
