— The Computer Guy has come a long way since it first opened in April 2010.

And considering all the recent renovations to its facility at 14 West St., the company is still moving forward.

On Friday, June 5, Town of Warwick Deputy Supervisor James Gerstner, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owner Kevin Brand, his family and staff for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate five successful years.

When Brand first opened at 17 West St. and later that same year moved to larger quarters across the street he had been in the computer industry for more than 20 years.

He had also been the owner of a corporate computer support business, Department of Information Technologies, Inc., for nine years.

True to the nameBrand was what most people would call "a computer guy" and that's the name he choose for his new business in his hometown of Warwick.

At first the firm's services included the removal of viruses and spyware, computer cleanings, system setups, data recovery, PC upgrades and wireless setups.

Today, in addition to computer sales and repairs, The Computer Guy now offers iPad, iPhone and Xbox repairs.

And for those looking for that "special" machine, they now offer custom builds with the specification needs of the customer. The company also offers refurbished desktops and laptops.

The Computer Guy has a reputation for supporting the community with donations to various charitable organizations, supplying the Warwick Fire Department with computers or donating time to The Warwick Historical Society.

"We're glad to help," said Brand. "We are also proud to support our local schools and organizations. And we would like to thank the community and surrounding towns for their support. As we continue to grow, we invite you to grow with us. We welcome any questions you might have regarding your computer issues and are always eager to help."

Essential informationThe Computer Guy is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but technicians are always available for emergency calls.

The company offers computer cleanings, virus removals, computer optimizations, data transfers and house calls.

For those looking for business support, its restricted business division, TCG Solutions is now offering: MSP, hosted email and voice, sales, installation and support.
