WARWICK — June 17 marks five years since Doctor of Pharmacy Ann Marie Cloutier, a graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Northeastern University and the University of Rhode Island, acquired Apple Valley Pharmacy, formerly located in Warwick's Merchant Square. .
On Wednesday, June 22, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Cloutier and her staff to celebrate Apple Valley Pharmacy's new location at 8 West St. in the Village of Warwick.
And the new downtown location has ample parking.
"We are thrilled to have been able to purchase our own building in the heart of the Village with a private parking lot," said Cloutier. " Being centrally located allows for our unique services to be more accessible to the community. Offering specialty services that create ease when filling prescriptions, providing free local delivery and specializing in preparing compounded medications to suit a patient's individual health needs have been well-received conveniences for our customers."
She added that Apple Valley pharmacists provide many clinical services and are licensed to immunize and offer vaccinations for flu, pneumonia, shingles and meningitis for adult patients.
Apple Valley Pharmacists conduct Medication Therapy Management (MTM), a free service for people with multiple health conditions and those who take multiple medicines.
"That helps you and your doctor make sure that your medicines are working to improve your health," said Cloutier.
She explained that SyncRx coordinates all of a patient's prescriptions to be available at the same time each month. And that the Pill Packaging service provides an easy-to-open, color-coded custom pill packaging system that makes pill taking more convenient and organized for patients who prefer to remain independent.
Apple Valley's Diabetes Care Club offers patients with diabetes a free glucose meter and test strips each month.
Dr. Cloutier also provides hormone replacement consultations by appointment. And she works with you and your physician to customize a treatment regimen.
Cloutier stated that the Apple Valley Pharmacy staff focuses on providing knowledgeable advice, taking time to work with customers to discuss their medical concerns, and finding alternative products and solutions that best address their needs.
