Albert Wisner Public Library hosts Warwick through Time exhibit

WARWICK — The Albert Wisner Public Library hosted the Warwick through Time exhibit and artist reception on Saturday, April 8.
The multi-discipline photographs and works of art exhibit, courtesy of the Warwick Valley Art League, the Albert Wisner Library and the Sesquicentennial Committee, featured approximately 50 Village of Warwick theme images.
The exhibit, which included an opening day artist reception in the Board Room, is another of the events scheduled this year to honor the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the village.
The title and details about the work will be displayed on the walls of the library's main floor for three months. Additional works are also in the downstairs area and there is a published guide with the name and artist of each submission ranging from the Old School Baptist Meeting House, an oil on canvas by Sarah McHugh to three sequential photographs by Elfriede Vulpone of her granddaughter Nicole's first time apple picking, many years ago when she was just a toddler.
"She thought picking apples meant picking them off the ground," said Vulpone.
Among the many other items that visitors may find interesting are an oil painting by Augusta Berns of a beloved Warwick Grade-4 teacher Hylah Hasbrouck, a watercolor of the Warwick Train Station 1910 by Michael DeAngelis and a gouache by Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard.
