A modified Too Good To Toss returns on June 12 and 13
Warwick. Instead of gathering at Stanley Deming Park, the town-wide swap of items too good to throw out will be held at 100 households throughout Warwick.
Too Good To Toss, Warwick’s annual free community swap, has been modified this year to comply with COVID restrictions. Due to the large numbers of people that this event attracts, organizers have determined that it would be imprudent to gather on the basketball park in Stanley Deming park as in previous years.
However, people may display their unwanted items, that are in good condition with all working parts, on their own lawns on Saturday, June 12, and/or Sunday, June 13, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Since 2017, Too Good To Toss has been an annual non-profit volunteer-run event in Warwick that aimed to keep perfectly good items out of landfills. The free town-wide swap grew year after year until it was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
This year organizers are piloting a modified swap event where up to 100 Warwick households will bring their items that are Too Good To Toss outside of their home for “shoppers” to take away.
While there won’t be a gathering on the basketball court in Stanley Deming Park as in past years, the goods are still free.
