Golden Hill students learn value of saving with their own bank
FLORIDA -The Golden Bank of Florida at Golden Hill provides 5th grade students with an opportunity to work with employees of the Provident Bank of Florida in the capacities of managers, tellers, and customer service representatives. All students in grades K-5 are given the opportunity to learn the importance of saving by depositing money into their own bank accounts. The students involved engage in a real-life banking experience while reviewing math skills. In preparation for our grand opening of the bank, interested fifth grade students interviewed with Principal DePace, Mrs. Crespo, and Mrs. Wood. All expressed themselves nicely during their interviews. The job titles for the 2003-2004 school year are as follows: Team A Team B Managers: Katelyn Thomas(5N) Shane Kinley (5N) Tellers: Jessica Velez (5H) Stephen Biblis (5F) Matthew Codi (5N0 Thomas O'Daniels (5F) Customer Service: Emily Salmons (5H) Justin Sinisi (5N) Public Relations Specialists: Kristen Adams (5F) Scott Glowaczewski (5F) After advertisements announcing opening day were created and posted by customer service representatives, managers and tellers came in before school to be trained in their new positions. The Golden Bank of Florida opened for business on Dec. 4, under supervision of parent volunteer, Mrs. Barbariantz, advisor, Mrs. Crespo, and Provident Bank of Florida employees, Andrea Wood and Albert Nrecaj.
