Mattingly’s Tavern celebrates grand opening in Village of Florida
Florida. Tavern seeks to recreate nostalgic experience.
Patrons are invited to step back to a time when family and friends could watch a game in a charming park like Ebbets Field or the Polo Grounds, enjoy ballpark food and drink and leave with money still in pocket.
And Mattingly’s Tavern, 16-18 North Main St. next to Werner’s Hardware in the Village of Florida, looks to recreate that nostalgic experience.
On Wednesday, Sept. 4, state and local officials along with members of the Florida and Warwick Chambers of Commerce joined owner Tom Mattingly, his staff members, patrons, friends and supporters to celebrate the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
With barnwood and real brick walls reminiscent of Chicago’s Wrigley Field, wood-grain floors and live-edge bar-tops, Mattingly’s Tavern features what he describes as, “really great bar food” inspired by real ballpark concessions.
Patrons can order stadium dogs, beer bratwurst or a half-pound steak burger all served with tavern-seasoned potato flats and an IPA, craft beer, popular Pilsner or California wines on-tap while New York teams make playoff runs.
And watch every game every Sunday with the NFL Sunday Ticket.
The Mattingly’s Tavern kitchen is open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily and breakfast is served any time.
“With a friendly and customer-focused staff, a great-tasting and reasonably priced menu and signature cocktails,” said Mattingly, “customers are always certain to get to first base at Mattingly’s Tavern.”
