Bell Ringing Award

| 30 Sep 2011 | 09:29

Sugar Loaf resident Clay Boone, who volunteers to organize the Salvation Army Bell Ringing in Chester, recently presented a special award to the Central Orange Sunrise Chester Rotary. Every Christmas season, the rotary — as well as many other local organizations — ring the bell to raise funds for the Salvation Army. For the past few years, a special “friendly competition” has clubs working hard to raise the most funds during their “ringing” times. This year, and for the second time, the Chester rotary club won this recognition. The group meets every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m .at Goldberg’s Famous Bagels in Chester. Call President Mary Rohde at 742-2195 for more information.
