William A. Weimann Jr. of Middletown, formerly of Florida, N.Y., entered into rest on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021. He was 85.
The son of William A. Weimann Sr. and Carolyn Engels Weimann, he was born on July 15, 1936, in Teaneck, N.J.
He is survived by his wife Miriam C. Weimann of 55 years; his daughters Christina Morana, (Dunwoody, Ga.) and Gretchen Witt, (Middletown); sons-in-law Sal Morana and Kevin Witt; grandchildren Olivia and Alex Morana and Madison Witt. He is also survived by his brother Alan Weimann Sr. and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He retired as a sales manager for Gorman-Rupp Industries in Bellville, Ohio, in 2001.
Bill is a former Army veteran and member of many civic organizations including the Elks PER# 658 in Hackensack, N.J., and the Lions Club.
He served as a Town of Warwick Republican Committeeman, was a school board member for Florida Union Free School District and was an elder for Amity Presbyterian Church.
Those who knew Bill knew he was quick with a joke, always willing to help, deeply patriotic and a man of his word.
Memorial visitation was held Dec. 9, at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida.
Memorial service were held Dec. 10 at the United Presbyterian Church, 25 Orchard St., Middletown.
Burial of cremains will be held in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the staff at Park Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, with a big shout out to “Sarge” for their care and compassion for Bill.
