Virginia Van Sickle Kurdyla of Pine Island, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Monday, July 16, 2018. She was 82.
The daughter of Clarence and Josephine Gailie Van Sickle, she was born on April 6, 1936, in Pine Island.
Virginia was a retired licensed practical nurse at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, Pine Island Seniors; life member of the Pine Island Ambulance; member and past president and vice president of the Pulaski Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She also delivered Meals-on-Wheels.
She is survived by her husband, John Walter Kurdyla of Pine Island; daughter Kathleen Sidoti; sons David Kurdyla and wife Kelly and Wayne Kurdyla and Debora Wellema; nine grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Jessica and Jennifer Sidoti, David and Joshua Kurdyla, April Bouton and Daniel and Brian Kurdyla; great grandson Ryan Sidoti; sister Lillian Lippert; brother Richard Van Sickle; several nieces, nephews ,cousins and many cherished friends.
She was predeceased by grandson Joseph Sidoti Jr., brother John VanSickle, sisters Frances Buckle, Elizabeth Machnicki, Pauline Re and Joanie Gregory and step-granddaughter Erin Carroll.
Friends may call on Friday, July 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1, Pine Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pine Island.
