Theresa Florence Linkens of Warwick passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at her daughter's home in Stafford, Va. She was 90.
Theresa was born in Brooklyn on Feb. 28, 1926, the daughter of Rocco and Jennie (Tovini) Caputo.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Murgo and her husband Joseph; her son Richard Linkens and his wife Jeanne; her brother Frank Caputo and his wife Rosemarie; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Wright Linkens and her son William Wright Linkens Jr.
During World War II, Theresa worked at a defense plant, supporting the war by inspecting mortar shells for any defects.
She was a hard-working woman, who always put the needs of others before herself.
Theresa loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She shared her love of baseball with her family. The New York Mets were her favorite team.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 30, at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Quantico, Va.
A private interment will be held in Quantico National Cemetery.
