Stella M. Nesgoda of Florida, N.Y., entered into rest on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of Mary Giza and Stanley Nowicki, she was born on Oct. 9, 1930 in Warwick.
She attended St. Joseph’s School and S.S. Seward Institute.
She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church, where she was married and where all her children received their sacraments. She was a member of the Living Rosary Society.
She was a devoted, loving wife to her husband Stanley “Sonny” and an incredible mother to her seven children. She worked tirelessly raising her family and working on the family farm.
Later she worked for more than 20 years as a dietary aide for Orange Farms in Goshen.
She always had a kind word for everyone she knew and met. She will be remembered for her unwavering allegiance to her husband, children and extended family, for her gentle soul, loving spirit, sharp wit and incredible sense of humor.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Stanley “Sonny” Nesgoda and her son Michael. She was also predeceased by her brothers Stanley, Anthony, Frank, Leo, Zigmund, Peter and Andrew Nowicki and by her sisters Frances Rakowiecki and Julia DiCarlo.
Survivors include her sons Stanley, Paul and Peter Nesgoda, her daughters and sons-in-law Mary and William Summers, Estelle and Kenneth McCarthy, Susan Nesgoda-Moshinsky and Lewis Moshinsky. Her grandchildren include William and his wife Veronica Summers, Allison and her husband John Yu, Lauren and her husband Jason Guardino, Kellyn McCarthy and Jeffrey Moshinsky. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Jan. 24 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Florida.
Funeral Services were held Jan. 25 at St. Joseph’s Church, Florida, N.Y.
Burial was held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
