Richard C. Hanlon of Warwick passed away at Orange Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was 69 years old.
Born in Long Beach on Nov. 20, 1948, he was the son of Joseph and Joan (Stern) Hanlon.
Richard was an educator for the New York City Department of Education for 23 years before retiring.
At the time of his passing, Richard was a writer for Straus News. He was a free-lance photographer, who enjoyed taking pictures of sunsets, people and special events.
Richard loved music and was an avid golfer.
His family statement reads: “Richard was a wonderful and loving husband, a doting father, a good man and a friend to those who knew him. He loved life and his family.”
Richard is survived by his wife, Alicia (DeJesus Clavell-Hanlon) at home; three sons: Adam Alex Peña of Warwick, Matthew Clavell of Warwick and Nikolas Hanlon of Howard Beach; four brothers: Robert Hanlon of Orient, Roger Hanlon of Daytona Beach, Florida, William Dictor of Hempstead and David Dictor of Portland, Oregon.
Cremation was private. A memorial service will be set for a later date.
Arrangements were made by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
