Philip Stanley Moraski

Philip Moraski, of Warwick, known to many as “Skip”and to some as “Grobby,” passed away at home with his loving wife Marion by his side, on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the age of 87, after a brave battle with cancer.

His sense of humor, love of family and quick wit will be sorely missed.

Born on March 17, 1933, in Montclair, New Jersey, he was the son of Philip and Ann (Danoski) Moraski.

He served in the U. S. Air Force during the 1950’s. Moved with Georgia-Pacific when they relocated to Warwick in 1969. He worked as supervisor of the Wet Process of the Safety Paper Division when he retired in 1988, after 37 years of service.

Skip was an avid golfer, joining the Warwick Valley Country Club where he served as President in 1983; was Club Champion in 1975; and won many other golf titles as the years went by; his favorite, The Team Championship, with his son, Michael.

He loved fishing and his annual trips to Canada, never missed a Duke Men’s Basketball game and enjoyed building anything out of wood in the basement: toys for the grand kids, furniture, you name it. When visiting family, you would always find Skip knee-deep in a project, either building something or fixing something. And if it had a motor or an engine, Skip could make it run.

Skip is survived by his best friend and wife of 65 years, Marion (“Babe”); his son Michael and wife Jody Moraski; his daughter, Linda and husband Sam Veraldi; grandchildren Christopher Moraski (companion Jessica Graves); Megan and Taylor Veraldi, Jesse, Corey (companion Megan Rota), Danielle and Philip Moraski; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Peyton Moraski; brother Frank and wife Rita Moraski; brother-in-law Michael and wife Liz Giordano; sisters-in-laws Lorene Poje and Patrice and husband Bruce Giordano-Bourne; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters Marion LaMin and AnnaMae Burns and brothers Bobby and Ronald Moraski.

In following Skip’s wishes, there will be no public service.

Private arrangements and cremation were made by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Warwick.
