Nancy Turiano of Warwick (formerly of Brooklyn) passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Sept. 12, 2023. She was 88 years old.
Born in Brooklyn on March 24, 1935, she was the daughter of Stephen and Barbara (nee Graffeo) Staluppi.
Her family’s statement reads: “Nancy was the warmest and most thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to everyone who knew her. She loved big holiday gatherings with tons of family and food around the table. If you had any kind of life event happen, you could count on a card from Nancy filled with loving words.”
Nancy was married to her devoted husband August for 64 years. Augie survives her, along with daughter JoAnne Westervelt and her husband Kris of Lansing, N.C., son Gerard Turiano and his wife Sue of Glenwood, N.J., son Steven Turiano and his wife Janine of West Rutland, Vt., and daughter Denise Manna and her husband Lee of Hewitt, N.J; five grandchildren: Gerard Turiano, Frank Turiano, Gelsomina Turiano, Danielle Capelli and Richard “Ricky” Capelli, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John Staluppi.
Visitation was held Sept. 18 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 19 at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick.
Interment followed in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pine Island.
