Miriam (nee Marshall) Egan of Warwick passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 87 years old.
Born in Brooklyn on Aug. 23, 1930, she was the daughter of Daniel Marshall and May (Clayton) Marshall.
After raising her eight children, Miriam returned to the work force where she served as a fund administrator for Ironworkers’ Local 580 in New York City.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Stephen R.C. Church in Warwick.
She was married to her husband of 65 years, Kenneth A. Egan, who predeceased her in 2015.
Miriam is survived by her eight children, including son Kenneth Egan and his wife Patricia of Princeton, N.J., daughter Katherine Plebani and her husband Michael of Jim Thorpe, Pa., son Michael Egan and his wife Debra of Sparkill, son Matthew Egan and his wife Deborah of Rotonda West, Fla., daughter Maureen Contento of Yardley, Pa., son Timothy Egan and his wife Cheri of Darien, Conn., daughter Patricia Bartolotta and her husband Joseph of Warwick, and daughter Ann Schroeder of Yardley, Pa. Also surviving are her 15 grandchildren: Tracie, Jillian, Michael, Nicole, Joseph, Christopher, Nicholas, Stephanie, Kevin, Ryan, Timmy, Caroline, Danielle, Tommy and Olivia; and her four great-grandchildren: Christopher, Oona, Grace, and Scarlett.
Visitation was held May 10 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 11 at St. Stephen RC Church in Warwick.
Internment followed in St. Stephen Cemetery.
