Joyce C. Diermeier

    Joyce C. Diermeier of Warwick (and formerly of New City) passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. She was 96.
    Born on Dec. 3, 1920 in River Falls, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Clarence E. and Sarah G. (Kunselman) Chubb.
    She was the widow of Harold F. Diermeier (1980).
    Joyce retired as a high school English teacher with the Warwick Valley School Districts.
    She was a member of the AAUW and was the gift shop manager at St. Anthony Hospital for many years.
    She was a longtime member of the Warwick United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player and bird watcher.
    She is survived by her children: James Diermeier and his wife Susan of Yorktown Heights, David Diermeier and his wife Jane of Warwick, Harold Diermeier and his wife Jo Anne of Warwick and Sarah Grace Heath and her husband Brad of Hammonton, N.J.; and her grandchildren: Bradley, Devon, Timothy, Harold, Brett, and Emma Kate.
    The family would like to express their thanks to Amy Bogdanski, Joyce’s faithful caretaker, and the nurses at St. Anthony’s for their wonderful care and compassion, with special thanks to SACH Case Manager Renee Desrats and Dr. Patricia Rossi, Mom’s personal physician.
    Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
