Joseph C. Boccia

    Joseph C. Boccia of Warwick, and formerly of Brooklyn, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017. He was 56 years old.
    Born on July 16, 1960, in Brooklyn, he was the son of Michael R. Boccia Sr. and Jennie Dolores Trentacosta Boccia.
    A retired New York City firefighter, Rescue Squad #41, he played football for the FDNY and for the Brooklyn Mariners after his graduation from New Utrecht High School.
    He coached Little League and high school football. A graduate of NY Restaurant School, he was co-owner of Fratello’s Restaurant in Warwick.
    He is survived by his daughter Cheyenne Boccia of Warwick; his son Joseph Boccia of Warwick; and mother of his children, Lorraine Boccia, of Warwick; his brothers: Michael R. Boccia Jr. of Poughquag, and Thomas Boccia of Poughkeepsie.
    A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 17, at St. Stephen's R.C. Church in Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
    Funeral arrangements were by Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick.
