Jorge Luis Cole
Jorge Luis Cole, a resident of Florida, N.Y., (and formerly of the Bronx) passed away at home after a long illness. He was 68 years old.
He was born in Colón, Panama, on March 7, 1950, the son of Herbert Cole and Augustina Perez.
Jorge joined the U.S. Army and proudly served for 20 years. He earned the rank of sergeant and was always proud to be a member of the armed forces.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Jorge worked as chef at Fordham University.
Jorge was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather; he loved his family. He was passionate about the N.Y. Yankees. He also enjoyed gardening.
Jorge is survived by his wife, Ramonita (Rolon) Cole, at home; his seven children: Jorge Cole Jr., of New York City, Carrie Cole and her husband Wander of the Bronx, Debora Marrero of Pompano Beach, Fla., Yesenia Martin Gonzalez and husband Jose of Florida, N.Y., Catalina Morales of Liberty, Erika Morales of the Bronx and Giovanna Ramirez and her husband Daniel of Liberty; 14 grandchildren: Alexa, Max, Tiffany, Marquis, Anthony, Antegra, Makayla, Jadenn, Jose, Helena, Efrain, Daniel, Allegra and Tianna; and a brother, Eric Cole Perez.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Joaquin Santa Maria Perez, Ricardo Perez and Mario Perez.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 27, from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick.
Cremation will be private.
Burial with military honors will be on Tuesday, May 1, at 11:30 a.m., at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen.
