James “Jimmy” Lundberg, a resident of Yonkers and more recently Warwick, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 with his daughter Dawn by his side. Jimmy passed from complications related to contracting COVID-19
Jimmy hailed from the South Bronx and worked hard to create a successful plumbing business called Power Rooter.
Calling Jimmy a character would be an understatement, and anyone who knew him would agree. He often traveled the Caribbean and his favorite place was San Juan. He enjoyed fishing, boating and skiing in his younger years.
Jimmy became infatuated with birds. This started when he began raising pigeons on his apartment building rooftop in the Bronx. He later purchased and lived part time on a farm in Pennsylvania where he would come to raise thousands of pigeons. Jimmy also raised chickens, quail, doves and other birds, but pigeons were by far his favorite.
If you asked him “Why pigeons?” His answer was simple: “They bring me peace.”
Jimmy also had a love for classic cars. He had numerous cars: 1963 Thunderbirds, 1961 El Dorado, 1969 Mustang and many more over the years. He also enjoyed spending time with the guys at Brady’s in the Bronx, Redwood, Post 1446 American Legion and Post 620 American Legion and the Bronxonia Yacht Club.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Dawn Rivera and husband Ralph Rivera, their children Sean Gejenski, Ryan Kawash and Michael Rivera; his sister Kathleen; his son Christopher Lundberg and his wife Teshia Lundberg, their children Dylan Lundberg, Amber Lundberg, Brian Clark and his wife Heather Clark; his son Jimi Lundberg and his wife Sahar Lundberg and their children Alia Lundberg, Rania Lundberg; his daughter Barbara Gosselin and her children Amy Potter, James Gosselin, Joey Gosselin and David Gosselin; and nine great grandchildren; his daughter Lora Garda and her husband Jack Garda with their children Michelle Garda, John Garda and Thomas Garda, Robert Owen and his wife Allyson Owen along with their children Lily and Signe.
Jimmy is predeceased by his daughter Robin Lundberg, his parents Evelyn Shea and James Lundberg as well as his brothers Frank and Harold Lundberg.
