Eugene E. Schmick Sr.

Eugene E. Schmick Sr. of Westtown entered into rest on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. He was 75.
The son of Philip Schmick and Clara Langlitz Schmick, he was born on Nov, 10, 1941, in Middletown.
He was a 55-year life member of the Minisink Hose Company # 1 in Unionville.
Survivors include two sons: Eugene E. Schmick Jr. and his wife Kerrie of Westtown and Richard Schmick and his wife Heather of Westtown; two granddaughters: Meghan Ford and her husband Brett and Brittany Schmick; five great grandchildren: Calleigh, Abigail, Zoe and Brettan Ford; and Logan Klein; brother Craig Schmick; sisters Shirley Schmick and Mary Lou Charles her husband Grant; brother-in-law Louis Poloniak; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Schmick, Joyce Schmick and Linda Dare; and also numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by wife Susan Dare Schmick; six brothers and eight sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island. Firematic services will be held 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Minisink Hose Company# 1, PO Box 372, Unionville, NY 10988.
